Priyanka Khetwal (Batch of 2021) has been placed at Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas (CAM) as an Associate and will be joining the Delhi office by the first week of November 2021.
The recruitment procedure included a set of three rounds of interviews after sending a copy of the curriculum vitae. The shortlisted candidates for the first two interviews had to complete an assignment and appear for a technical round of questions. The final stage was the interview round with the Deputy Head of the Delhi office. The board of panelists expected knowledge by interviewees in the Indian capital market, the laws applicable to companies going public for the first time, SEBI regulations, some important concepts from The Companies Act, 2013, etc. Aside from this, there was a good amalgamation of HR-oriented questions as well. On the basis of a candidate’s overall performance, individuals were shortlisted.
On being asked what piece of imperative advice would she like to give to the juniors who would be applying for job positions in the future; she stated “have clarity of concepts, especially in corporate law. If you don’t understand textbook language or have a hard time picturing it in a real-world scenario, I would suggest watching a video that explains that concept in layman terms. After that, probably look for any news related to that topic. Another personal piece of advice from my side would be to take the definition clause of any law very seriously. Whenever you encounter a defined term in the sections, you should skim over its definition again!..”
