Aakriti Gupta has started a position as an associate at SGA Law Offices. She is assisting the indirect tax litigation team in VAT Tribunals, Punjab and Haryana High Court, with various other adjudicating officers.
At SGA, she says, the working environment is extremely positive. The entire staff is extremely supportive; “The environment becomes even better when you have your super-seniors to support you and correct your mistakes.”
Being from a family of Chartered Accountants, she was always interested in corporate law and is extremely glad to have gotten an opportunity to work in the niche field of indirect tax right out of college.
To her juniors, she suggests not being afraid and getting out of their comfort zone; she added, “It is okay to ask questions and it is okay if you make mistakes as it is only from your mistakes that you will learn. No one is expecting you to be an expert right out of college so be positive but try to intern as much as you can. Do not intern for the sake of your CV. Intern for the sake of your knowledge and to explore as much as you can.”
Bluepencil congratulates her and wishes her luck in her future endeavours!
