Abhishek Sehgal (Class of 2015) has started a new position as a consultant at Trilegal’s Bombay office. He has joined their corporate/M & A team that occasionally handles complex litigations.
The selection procedure involved the HR shortlisting candidates, followed by individual interviews with the two Counsels who are now a part of his new team. Since Trilegal effectively has a two partner approval structure, there was a second interview with the equity partner leading the team and a final round with an equity partner from a different team. Prior to receiving this offer, the appointment must first acquire internal management committee approval following the interview and permission from the equity partner.
Since the corporate/M&A aspect would essentially be completely new, the questions were primarily focused upon the work that he had already handled i.e. arbitrations, as well as civil and commercial. He was also asked to elaborate upon the projects that he had handled at previous organizations and what all the same entailed. They also focused some questions on the provisions of the arbitration and the recent judgments that have been passed in the same.
Previously he has worked as an Associate in the dispute resolution team at Tuli and Co., where he was primarily handling arbitrations and civil /commercial litigation and insurance law.
