Lawyers are generally perceived as individuals who spend a lot of time reading books and can be easily spotted in the library. But ask any law student and they will tell you different. The same could be evidently seen in Army Institute of Law from April 2 to 5, 2018, when the first ever college basketball league was organized. The court was prepped, owners were waiting, holding their breath for the player list to be rolled out, then the auction was held, the atmosphere was tense each move was made as per strategy with the sole intention to win, evaluations and deductions were made before placing each bid and the stakes we’re raised like no tomorrow. The most expensive player in the league was Harsh Tiwari(4th year) playing for the Al Habibi Lakers. After very skillful financial management by the owners, four teams were constituted. And then a display of sheer excellence was witnessed when the team posters were released, and the audience met the teams, which were Hot Rods, Company, BBB and Al Habibi Lakers. If, for some unknown reason you haven’t seen the mastery of creative skill which were the posters then we strongly recommend you check them out, they can still be found on our social media, this is not something you’ll want to miss. And then it finally begun, fixtures we’re drawn and the teams were ready to battle it out on the courts. Tensions ran high in the field, there was drama, fights, dramatic cheer squads and everything in between. And it all culminated with the Al Habibi Lakers winning the maiden Bharat and Tanmay Basketball league. We miss our prime time dose of the sport and can’t wait for it’s return.
