“Smoke and Mirrors! Smoke and Mirrors!”
We scream and scream.
“They are not really as they seem!”

ISSUED IN PUBLIC INTEREST:- THE REGIME EMPLOYING SPECIAL ESPIONAGE AGENTS TO TARGET THE REBELS
The era is a cold and dark one. Information is a key commodity. It’s become vital to know what the adversary is up to. Henceforth, the use of technology and spies. It’s a war between the Reds and the standing Regime. No one, absolutely no one can be trusted. What’s more? There seems to be absolutely no limit to the technical capabilities and to the action and intentions of the regime. It’s crucially needed though. How can the regime even harbor the thought of free communication among the Reds?
And so there is the news about the Regime creating its own espionage project. The double ‘O’ initiative. The purpose? To infiltrate the Reds and live double lives while operating with great secrecy. They’ve been recruited, trained and outfitted and act as couriers of information, intercepting communications and act as ‘bugs’ to perform surveillance and reconnaissance missions.
They can be anywhere and everywhere. They can pick up and report the slightest of whispers of information. Any digital conversation with them would be instantly shared and transferred to their headquarters without any trace of who was behind it. The success of their missions often hinges on them looking and behaving like ordinary people and members of the community, but beware; you never know who is going to betray you at any time.
The populace, therefore, is advised to be on the lookout for these spies living amongst us. They act like sleeper cells, leading ordinary lives amongst us. However, when called upon to report; their allegiance lies with the Regime’s Headquarters. They share screenshots, have little birds feeding them information about every activity in the community and are not afraid to trade the information for favours. In conclusion, in the words of John le Carre, “It is the oldest question of all. Who can spy on the spies?”. The answer sadly, is, no one. You may hide from them, run from them, but one thing you cannot do is change them. The only recourse in these troubling times is staying vigilant and stay safe from trouble. And if these spies are caught, well; we all know, Snitches get put in ditches.
