Prisha Hariharan (Batch of 2024) has been successfully placed with ICICI as a management trainee.
As a part of the selection process, candidates had to sit through 4 rounds. The very first round was a CV shortlisting round wherein 40 candidates got shortlisted. The second round was a psychometric test which had a time limit of 3 hours and candidates were told to take their time with every single question. She says that the test was a personality test rather than a test of knowledge on legal jargon. The next day saw the shortlisted candidates participating in a round of group discussion about legal propositions and legal remedies and for they were divided into groups of 7-8 for the same. She remarks that one must be mindful not to interrupt other people while they are making their points and one should wait their turn but should also make sure that their voice is heard. The last round was an interview round. The interview lasted for about 20 minutes wherein she was asked questions relating to her specific areas of interests in law, her passion for law, questions about her internships being litigation-based and her keenness to work in a bank. She says that her interview was not as technical as she had expected and was more so based around her and her experiences while interning and how her personality would mesh if she works in a bank.
She also shares nuggets of wisdom for aspiring law students and has amazing advice that every single student and candidate wishing to bag a placement can use is to be their true authentic selves. She stresses on the importance of how one must be honest and truthful and should not pretend to be something they are not. One has to come to terms with the fact that it is impossible for anyone to know everything under the legal sun and instead, one must show the willingness to learn and should be keen to be trained.
The BluePencil congratulates her on this huge achievement and wishes her all the very best for all her future endeavours!
