Ahat Sharma (Class of 2019) will join PricewaterhouseCoopers(PwC) as an Associate in the Risk Assurance Segment. She is currently pursuing MBA (Law) Program at NMIMS School of Business Management, Mumbai and will be joining by May 2022 after her graduation.
The recruitment procedure included two rounds of elimination – the first was a CV shortlisting process and the second was a technical interview with the Partner and Associate-Directors of the Risk Assurance team. The Risk Assurance segment at PwC is divided into the Contracts and Compliances teams. The technical interview was held to evaluate the core competencies of each candidate and understand where their interest and skills lay. The interviewing panel consisted of four recruiters who were lawyers. They did not require any aptitude tests to be taken but did go through the usual hygiene questions at the onset. The panel expected all applicants to be well versed with contracts and corporate governance related compliances.
On being asked what piece of imperative advice would she like to give to the juniors who would be applying for job positions in the future; she stated that, “My advice to juniors at AIL would be to remember that though five years seems like a long time, it goes by in the blink of an eye. It is important to get all that we can from the resources offered at AIL. The college gives us the opportunity to gain experience and enhance our skills of research, organization, leadership and perseverance. It is best to focus our energy on the institution and work towards accolades that not only bring pride to our names, but to that of the College. All these experiences put together make you who you are at the end of your BA.LLB. – from a fawn 18-year-old, to a nearly 24-year-old lawyer. Besides this, I would like juniors reading this article to know that the anxiety related to job hunting or sitting for interviews is temporary and is best controlled through extensive research about the organization you are applying to, the job description, the market segment it covers, the interviewers and most importantly, your own CV. These are aspects of a job application that you have control over, and so should become your main focus. Everything else is peripheral, and with good research and confidence in what you are saying, success is inevitable!..”
The Bluepencil congratulates her on the achievement and wishes her luck for all future endeavors!
