“The most profound losses lay the quietest of blows, as if nothing really happened. The silent evaporation of trust in a marriage, the slow withering of one’s essence. The raw arrogance of beauty, or the sweet naivety of inexperience.”
‘A Table By The Window’ written by Sonia Chauhan (Class of 2010) has been featured in ‘Love Stories—My First Love’ which is an anthology of short stories around first loves.
She has been writing for over a decade and only publishes her selected works on blogs, literary magazines, or social media. According to her, stories are often inspired by idle musing—a chance encounter, random conversation, or simply watching a cat lick its paws. The idea of ‘A Table By The Window’ came to her the same way, on a languid afternoon as she folded laundry in her bedroom.
She plans to write a lot more offbeat pieces in the future through which she can break barriers of traditional writing and publish pieces that give people a peek into inner lives, where we are all flawed yet still magnificent. The book is available on Amazon.
The BluePencil wishes her all the luck for her future endeavors!
