The moment that we were all eagerly waiting for is here! The Gentlemen’s Cup is one of the most eagerly awaited sports event at AIL. Players are auctioned, and the ones with the highest bid get the opportunity to play in a team. The league sees participation from college players who have represented the college in one or more tournaments.This year three teams will be participating – The Gen Nutties Football Club, co-owned by Parth Chopra, Shivanjay Yadav and Parika Bhardwaj; The Dogra Warriors owned by Bharat Hippargi and The S*x Bombs co-owned by Malavika, Aakriti, Richa Aasawari, Jasleen, Pooja, Vedika, Urvashi and Revant.
Auctions for the same were held on 8th September, 2017. The most expensive player for this year’s league is Akshay Rathaur from the third year, who was sold to Dogra Warriors for Rs. 1720/-. The second second most expensive player is Armaan Cheema from the second year and was sold to GNFC for Rs. 1610/-
Matches for this football league will be held from 11th to 17th September, 2017 at the AIL Sports Grounds. Matches have been scheduled everyday till Sunday.
As only three teams are participating, each team will be playing two fixtures against the the other two teams. Based on the accumulated points from these matches, the top two teams will be contesting in the finals on Sunday.
