On March 28, 2018, the students from the third and fourth year were addressed by Mr. Rohit Manan, an alumnus of the college. He is from the Batch of 2003-2008 and is currently practising in Delhi, along with being an officer in the territorial army. In the interaction with the students, he divided his talk into three broad aspects, wherein he spoke about Life before, after and inside AIL.
In the first part of his speech he said that whether we are a part of this college by default or by design, we must make the most of the opportunities that the field of law provides us with and ensure that we take away with us valuable experiences while at this institution. Following which he spoke about Life at AIL and gave the students valuable advice on how they must build a network of people while in college. He spoke about his own experience while explaining the importance of building contacts in a legal profession. Mr. Manan also emphasised on how we must learn to read law like a lawyer would, right in college, to prepare ourselves for the profession. He concluded the second section of his talk by explaining the need to intern. He also spoke about how hostel life equips us to adjust in situations where one may not have support and how we learn patience while at college.
Finally, Mr. Manan concluded his talk by giving two valuable tips to the students. The first one, was to never compare oneself with another and join a rat race and the second was to be patient and always eager to learn.
