Royal Sundaram General Insurance Co. Limited (formerly known as Royal Sundaram Alliance Insurance Company Limited), a subsidiary of Sundaram Finance, is the first private sector general insurance company in India to be licensed in October 2000 by the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India.
The company asked for applications from the college whereby 20 students had applied. The selection procedure starts with an online test which is in an MCQ format including questions relating to law, general mental ability, English and mathematics. Students who cleared the test had to go for a personal interview that took place by video conferencing. This personal interview was grueling and was taken by the head of their legal department and questions relating to a wide range of subjects were asked. The subjects included Law of Torts, Contractual Law, Constitutional Law, Labor Law, Insurance Law, Transfer of Property among others. After a week from this, the results were announced.
Prakhar Srivastava from the batch of 2012-2017, is placed with them as as a management trainee in the legal department that deals with Claims, mostly related to Motor Insurance under the Motor Vehicles Act. He will be joining the company from June 19, 2017.
