Rape culture
Two words
Disconcerting and agitating
Rape culture is
Your child narrating a tale of that one relative
Soft hallow minds
Feel frail at the comfort of their own houses
And we shrug it off as nothing
Sexual violence is made the norm
Family prestige is notches higher than dignity
Rape culture is
A woman catcalled
Equated to something meagre
The concern should’ve been equivalent
Retribution as harsh as ever
Rape culture is
A man being abused
Called feeble his gender defining a equally
Petrifying event , negligible and trivial
Rape culture is
Sexism sealed remarks
Conforming to gender stereotypes
Tossing rape jokes and being called uptight
You resist and speak
Making them reside forever
In society’s uttermost filth and hidden rot
Rape culture is
Telling victims
How the length of their dress
Parade of fragile skin
Callous and exuberant demeanor
Is the only liable rationale
Rape culture
Can only be fought
It won’t die out and merely cease
Unless we annihilate it ourselves
