Another win for the ISB!
As per the notice on the college website dated 13th August, the fee structure for the academic year 20-21 has finally surfaced.
After much persuasion, deterrence and discourse, the Interim Student Body (ISB) has finally managed to convince the authorities of the dire need to reduce college fees this year round.
They have now divided the payment into three installments and decreased the overall amount, while also cutting out categories like the mess and washer man bill.
Many students would be aware of and may have contributed to the petitions that resulted in this decision.
It started on 2nd July 2020, after parents received intimation from the college regarding a fee hike of 6% for the upcoming academic year.
The ISB then drafted a letter addressing concerns about the escalation. They requested students to explain the measures to their parents and obtain signatures in the undertaking.
As per the student body, a simple majority needed to be constituted in support of the letter to make the movement worthwhile.
This act of solidarity came to fruition finally, when college authorities released the fee structure on the college’s official website.
Here’s to hoping the ISB succeeds in more such endeavours!
