“Let us swim in the vast ocean of knowledge, where the water we collect in our hands is always less, thus stimulating us to thrive for more”, with these positive words the quiz masters for the afternoon, Mrs. Gagandeep Dhaliwal and Ms. Sheetal Kapoor, welcomed everyone to witness the intra institute quiz competition. This event was divided into three rounds. The first being the preliminary round, which was a written round held a day prior ie on 6th Jan. In total 16 students i.e. 8 teams qualified for the semi-finals, which along with the finals, were held on 7th Jan. The teams while showcasing their knowledge also gave a tough competition to each other by adeptly answering the questions in order to qualify to the finals. The questions for the competition were very adroitly framed in order to cover various fields of knowledge including law, current affairs, general knowledge, etc, but the most gripping round was the audio visual round in which the competitors had to identify various movies, famous personalities and other important events while the audience could be heard singing along as songs like ‘Yeh Ishq Haye’ and ‘Thriller’ were played. The top four teams that qualified for finals were Amazon, Mississippi, Indus and Ohio. It was thrilling to see them brainstorming while at the same time struggling to give the correct answers within the alloted time. The organisers also had a surprise for the audience in form of an audience round which was conducted by Shashank Mishra(3rd year) and Shantanu Singh(3rd year). Finally, the Thursday activity ended with team ‘Indus’, consisting of Saurabh Upreti(4th year) and Ankit Yadav(4th year) , backing the first prize which included a cash prize of Rs 3200 while the runners up were team ‘Amazon’, consisting of Shivalik Thaman(5th year) and Navneet Kaur(5th year) who got a cash prize of Rs 1600.
