Jamboree- the Freshers’ Party, 2018, a day that the newest members of the AIL family – the batch of ’23 – were awaiting with bated breaths, and an untameable eagerness, was organized by the very vivacious 2nd year on the 31st of August, 2018. The day, from the morning itself, witnessed the very energized 1st years running helter-skelter trying to put together their suits for the evening, or seeking help from seniors to get their sarees draped and struggling to get ready on time. The air was filled with bubbles of ecstasy that evening and the MP Hall was lit up like a garden with fireflies (courtesy – the days of toiling by the very efficient decoration committee!). The boys, looking dapper in their suits and tuxedoes and girls making everyone’s jaws drop in their gorgeous sarees – accompanied by their respective escorts – were taken by the seniors to the venue. Little did they know at the moment what the latter had in store for them in the evening!
The event commenced with the newbies getting a picture clicked with their escorts (needless to say, while some were overenthusiastic for the same for obvious reasons, the others did it much reluctantly, again for obvious reasons!). Thereafter, the band went up the stage to perform some refreshing contemporary songs to set the rhythm for the evening. The rest of the function was packed with games, very upbeat and enthralling dance performances which had the audience, especially the 1st year, grooving, cheering and hooting for their immediate seniors.
Then came the highly awaited moment that the freshers dream of living – the crowning of Mr. and Miss Freshers. Out of ten selected candidates, Prabhav Pandey and Paloma Gupta bagged the title. Later, as per the traditions set, this mesmerizing night was wrapped up with the cutting of the cake.
After the refreshments were served, the students proceeded for an energy packed DJ night where everyone literally danced until they dropped! Indeed, this night is going to be fondly remembered by the batch of ’23 till their time in the college comes to an end, and even later.
We extend our gratitude to the batch of ’22 for this wondrous evening!
