30 teams from 18 Institutions from across the country participated in the first GK Chatrath Memorial Annual Parliamentary Debate competition held from 9th to 11th August at UILS, Panjab University.
Two teams from Army Institute of Law, comprising of Nishant Sharma, Aishwarya Sethi and Ruhul Amin from the 2nd year and Prateek, Sarthak Sharma and Akanksha Duvedi, also from 2nd year participated in the tournament along with Param Veer Chahal from the 4th year as an adjudicator.
In a neck to neck competition, Param Veer Chahal was adjudged as the 2nd best adjudicator after breaking in and was awarded with a trophy and a cash prize of 5000 rupees.
All the awardees were felicitated by honorable Chief guest Justice Jaswant Singh and guest of honour Prof Shankarji Jha, Dean of University Instruction, PU.
