Marking the initiation of the official welcoming of the First year, the Formal Introduction was organized on August 16th, 2018. The show commenced at 2 o’clock with both groups of girls and boys walking to the MPH shouting their slogans on top of their lungs: “baaki sab ka muh kaala, AIL ka bol baala!”
Who knew the college uniform could have so many manifestations! (Well, honestly, we did)
With one sleeve entirely folded, ties tied as ribbons on top of their heads and belts hung around their torsos, boys were definitely a laughing element. They had masculine traditional kohl on them (which is sometimes also referred to as ‘shoe polish’, for the sake of convenience) and second years also gave them a touch of pink lipstick. One could also see oil dripping from their heads.
But the girls were dressed no less either. Lipsticks and kohl (like, the literal one) adorned their chubby cheeks. They had plaits and buns both at the same time and their ties became their waistbands. The audience cheered in anticipation. The lights filled the stage, and it finally started.
They came up one by one, introduced themselves, spoke their respective tagline, named their buddy seniors and then, (most reluctantly) danced.
But it wasn’t over…
Second year presented a flash mob which took everyone by surprise. Then they invited the First Year for the Gala event- “Jamboree”, the Freshers’ Party.
All in all, the very ecstatic first year put up a wonderful show in presence of the faculty and audience. The next day would be celebrated as the Escorts’. There are a lot of things brimming with excitement and zeal coming up, stay tuned!
