Adrenaline and fun. That is exactly what the Formal Introduction event was composed of.
As per tradition, AIL held the Formal Introduction for the 2017 batch on 29 August,2017. The event was to begin at 2 pm but the preparation for the event commenced much before that in hostels as all the first years assembled in the quad to get their “beautiful” make overs done by their much talented second years.
To fulfill their part in the make over, first years were dressed up in their uniforms with miss-matched color of socks and odd shoes. By the end of this session there were students roaming around with multiple braids/ buns/ pony tails and to top it off they had lipstick and kajal put up on their faces in the most peculiar and alluring manner possible. This extreme makeover wasn’t limited to the girls, the boys donned wacky outfits as well.
The entire college building was reverberating as the first years entered into the building and made their way up to the MPH all this while chanting the slogan “ baaki sab ki thalle thalle,AIL ki balle balle! “At the top of their lungs.
Inside the MPH the atmosphere was a whole new level of crazy. The entire crowd went berserk once the event started and the first years went on stage roll number wise and introduced themselves in front of all the seniors and faculty members and danced on the most random and hilarious songs. There were first years cheering on their batch mates, seniors cheering their buddy juniors, thumping each others back whenever their name was taken by their buddy junior, there were people dancing, applauding, hooting and of course, chanting the slogan. The MPH would have been deafening to an average person but then again, average people don’t hold such splendorous events.
The Formal Introduction officially came to an end with the first and second years dancing together, and the ice breaker session turned out to be a great success.
