Mehula Vats (Class of 2022) has been admitted to the Global Professionals Masters in Law program at University of Toronto which will be for a duration of one year, commencing from the summer of 2022. This program entails key concepts dealing with matters concerning the Canadian common law concentration and makes the trajectory to become a Canadian lawyer easier and effective.
The University of Toronto is ranked sixteenth in global rankings and this particular course is ranked sixth worldwide. The program has never been more relevant than it is right now. This course offers several imperative and lucrative opportunities in corporate, litigation, civil law sectors and also helps in securing Canadian citizenship accordingly in the future.
She has interned for several pro-bono initiatives previously; notably at the Child welfare Commission of Delhi, National Commission for Protection of Child Rights, National Commission for Women and Children and at the Ministry of Defence. On asking her what piece of imperative advice would she like to offer to the juniors who wish to embark on a similar trajectory of studying further overseas, she remarked that “applying on time and being mindful of deadlines is of prime importance. Having a good networking circle, an extremely good GPA, relevant internships, a very good Statement of Purpose and solid letters of references which are both academic and professional in nature; is also very imperative. Believing in yourself coupled with early planning and a refined research into course programs which are in tune with your future academic and professional trajectory are some things which must be kept in mind.”
