After two whole years, the MPH was again brimming with excitement as our quiz masters welcomed us to the Semifinals of the annual Intra Institute Quiz Competition which is finally being held offline this year. Spanning over a course of two days the Competition kicked off with the preliminary rounds on 20th April which saw 40 contestants compete for a seat in the semifinals. The preliminary round was a written round consisting of 25 questions that had to be answered over a course of 15 minutes.
After the written rounds, 12 contestants emerged victorious and reached the semifinals. The Semifinals of the quiz saw four teams consisting of three members each, compete for the title. The teams were named Red, Blue, Green after the Primary colours and the fourth team was named Orange as a fun twist since it is the only colour that doesn’t rhyme with another word. The semifinals consisted of multiple rounds which included an MCQ round, a single answer round, and a visual round. The teams were awarded ten points for a right answer and five additional points to answer a pass question. Any question the teams weren’t able to answer was thrown to the audience which participated with enthusiasm.
After the scores were collected and tallied, Team Red consisting of Puneet Sharma (2061), Amal A.S (1902) & Vani Saini (1963) and Team Blue consisting of Ajay Pal Singh (1761), Simran Singh Rathi (2003), and Sonakshi Singla (2070) emerged as the top two teams with a score of 40 and 55 respectively and moved to the Finals. The Finals consisted of another four rounds after which it was Team Blue that emerged as the winners of The AIL Intra Institute Quiz with the team taking away a cash prize of Rs.2400 and certificates. Team Red was declared as the Runner’s Up and got a Cash Prize of Rs.1800 and certificates.
Hence, keeping the Quizzing spirit alive we saw the conclusion of yet another successful Intra Institute Quiz at AIL.
