The Thursday Activity today included a seminar by Mr. Simar Omkar – Director of Great Life, Applied Psychology Services. The topic of this interactive session was ‘Death penalty only be given when the alternative option is unquestionably foreclosed’ and ‘reforms in jail’. Two students brilliantly summarised the articles related to the two topics and talks on ‘circumstancial evidence based death sentences’ and ‘reformation of criminals instead of capital punishment commenced’ commenced.
After a thought provoking discussion, Mr. Omkar proceeded further with a presentation on the subject is psychology. The presentation included the meaning, reasons to study psychology, mind of a criminal, relevance of psychology in law, forensic psychology etc. The students were keen to participate in the discussions and came up with intellectual answers realted to the SC judgement on the rape and murder case of a 9 year old girl.
The session ended with a question- answer round. It was a very enlightening and knowledge experience for everyone.
