He delivered a lecture on the topic “Problems and Potentials of the Disabled and Analysis of the latest laws”.Dr. Nagpal’s relationship with disability with is as old as he is. He went on to outline and elaborate on the problems and difficulties faced by the people who are part of the Disabled community. His work in the field has been appreciated and has won him many accolades including the President’s Award which he had the honor of receiving twice.
He shared with the students personal experiences of his life and laid emphasis on how the society’s inconsiderate and insensitive attitude towards disabled people is the biggest issue India is faced with in terms of our policy for the disabled. He went on to narrate an instance when he was a part of a selection committee for certain positions open for disabled people and how the members of that committee behaved in the most inconsiderate manner while making their decisions.
His lecture focused on encouraging the students to work for the society and igniting feelings of empathy in their hearts. Before leaving he motivated them to be more charitable and pay back the debts they owe to the society.
He kept the entire lecture extremely lively and held everyone captive with his witty sense of humor.
