The first match of The Gentlemen’s Cup was on 24th October at 1545 hrs at the AIL Sports Ground. It was between Gen Nutties FC and Dhurandar FC was captained by Amanpreet Singh and Himmat Singh respectively. This stirring match was refereed by Rishab Bhatt.
Bharat Mishra from Gen Nutties FC was the first one to score a goal in the first half and subsequently uplifting his teammates’ spirits. The air at the field turned tensed soon after the goal and the other team tried to score a goal by hook or crook. But soon in the second half Virendra the Dhurandar from Dhurandar FC managed to score a goal, which lead to a neck to neck competition till the end. This match ended as a draw but it still kept the spectators hooked as the next thing to follow were the dreaded penalty shootouts. After a few mini heart attacks for the fans and owners of both teams, the Dhurandars came as victorious when their tally was one more than the Gen Nutties and hence ending the match.
Next match in line was between Leave my Arselona FC and Super S*x Bombs captained by Ishaan Saran and Rishab Bhatt respectively and was refereed by Amanpreet Singh. Both teams with such interesting names, made the match equally interesting with every passing second. Rishab Bhatt, the golden boy of SSBFC, opened his team’s account by scoring a goal in the first half. Golden boy managed to score yet another, and the audience’s favourite goal of the day few minutes after the first one. By the end of the first half, LMAFC were still to score a goal. The odds in the second half seemed to favour the Super S*x Bombs as Parth Chopra from the team scored two more goals consecutively within a gap of few minutes, therefore making the total score four goals against none from LMAFC. Just a few minutes before the match was to get over, Rishab Bhatt scored the final goal for his team and sealing the match with SSBFC scoring five goals and LMAFC with zero, ending in a huge loss for the players and the owners of LMAFC.
